Jim broke into publishing in 2001 with “How to Do Everything with HTML,” a book on Web authoring written “by a non-techie for non-techies,” and published by Osborne/McGraw-Hill. Right on the heels of that book, he followed up with “Cascading Style Sheets: A Beginner’s Guide,” also published by Osborne. In 2003, Osborne asked him to do a second edition of his Web authoring book. That book was released under the title: “How to Do Everything with HTML & XHTML”.
Jim hasn’t written any Web-related books since 2003, but he is the author/compiler of Barnes and Noble’s “HTML Spark Chart,” a reference chart for HTML & CSS. He also recently served as technical editor for Thomas Powell’s “HTML & CSS: The Complete Reference (5th Ed.)”.
Even though Jim’s original HTML and CSS books are a bit dated now, they still provide an excellent introduction to the basics of Web authoring, particularly for beginners who find most books on the subject difficult to follow.
