GREENVILLE, TEXAS, Sept 18, 2017– Internationally known Christian pianist and songwriter, Ken Medema, will be performing in concert at the Greenville Municipal Auditorium on Saturday, November 4th at 7:00 p.m. The concert is to benefit Hunt County Shared Ministries (FISH) and Community Seeds (Lone Oak). Cost of admission is a non-perishable food item to help replenish their food pantries in advance of the holiday season. Cash donations will also be accepted. The evening will feature a community choir performing with Ken onstage.

The holiday season is always a drain on ministries that reach out to those who are struggling financially. This year, hurricanes Harvey and Irma have made the situation much worse. This Thanksgiving and Christmas, many people will be looking to local outreaches such as FISH and Community Seeds for help. To help meet this need, Fellowship Bible Church of Greenville is partnering with Ken Medema to hold a concert aimed at filling up these food pantries before the holidays.

As described on kenmedema.com, “Ken has been performing for over 40 years in many different venues: churches, conventions, colleges, corporations and more, for groups ranging from 50 to 50,000 people…. Though blind from birth, Ken sees and hears with heart and mind, singing stories from his audience and accenting themes and perspectives from speakers and workshop leaders. Ken custom designs every musical moment through improvisation and new composition to bring each event to life.”

Concert organizer, James Pence, says, “The best part of Ken’s concerts is when he opens the floor for audience members to share personal stories. Ken then improvises a personalized song on the spot, bringing the person’s story to life musically.”

Ken has invited all who want to sing with him to be part of a community choir for a portion of the concert. He will rehearse the choir on Saturday morning at a location to be determined soon. Anyone interested in participating should contact concert organizer, James Pence, at james@pence.com or 214-460-0390.
